Intermediate School May Newsletter (21–22)

Dear Intermediate Families,

I hope you are enjoying the first true days of Spring weather. The students demonstrated such hard work and focus as they put forth their best effort in completing the Pennsylvania System of School Assessments (PSSA). We are so proud of their diligence and commitment to completing the tasks. Please let them know how proud you are of them.

ECS Walk and Roll is an event that gives students, parents/caregivers, school staff, and community members an opportunity to raise the visibility of walking and rolling —biking, wheelchair, scooter, skates or skateboards, carpooling — and work together to make our communities safer and more enjoyable. Our event also promotes health, safety, physical activity, and concern for the environment.

On May 11, 2022, ECS staff, students, and families are invited to walk or roll to school. ECS Walk and Roll was originally to take place on May 4th, but was rescheduled for May 11th due to rain. All routes to and from school will be marshaled by ECS Staff and partner organization (The Wheel Mill, Major Taylor & Bike Pittsburgh) volunteers. All community members who participate in Walk and Roll will be entered into a raffle! Sign up for Walk and Roll 2022! If you need additional information, please contact Victoria Yu or Freida Kinney.

Finally, ECS is partnering with Remake Learning Days on Tuesday, May 17th to host World Wide Wonder: Open the Door to Outdoor Learning from 1–2:30 p.m. This event is for K-5 students and will take place at the Intermediate School.
