ENVIRONMENTAL CHARTER SCHOOL HOSTS Q&A SESSIONS FOR LARIMER COMMUNITY

PITTSBURGH (March 3, 2022)— The Environmental Charter School (ECS) hosted two Q&A sessions during the week of Feb. 21 for members of the Larimer community to review building plans for the new high school (ECHS) slated to break ground Fall 2022, on Hamilton St.

“ECS is dedicated to being a good neighbor, and we are excited to build a space that not only benefits our students, but also the community it resides in,” Dr. James Doyle, COO said. “ECS looks forward to breaking ground on this space in the coming months.”

Members of the Larimer community were invited through the Larimer Consensus Group newsletter to attend the Q&A sessions in ECS’s district offices located at the Kingsley Center. Participants had the chance to review the ECHS building plans and engage in discussions with leaders from the school district. The building will feature four floors, incorporate passive house design and several outdoor components, and feature a black box theatre.

“ECS is excited to work with Avon Design Group to construct a beautifully built piece of architecture that will stand out in our community and act as a pillar for the district’s growing high school program,” Doyle said.

ECS looks forward to future conversations with the community as it inches closer to breaking ground on the district’s high school building.
