Reviewing the Candidate Pool–CEO Succession Planning Team
From the desk of Adam Tobias, ECS Board of Trustees President and the CEO Succession Planning Team
Thank you to everyone who participated in the ECS Listening Tour, which gathered thoughts and insights both through meeting times and an all-community survey. After conducting 12 sessions and receiving numerous responses from the digital survey, our OnRamps team summarized important themes found throughout our conversations with various groups of the ECS community. These themes are important for our reflection on where we are as an organization and provide context for our next ECS CEO to understand and develop strategies to address the journey ahead.
The process for identifying the candidates for the next ECS CEO is still meeting timing requirements for onboarding this summer. OnRamps is reviewing a nationwide candidate pool and conducting first and second-round interviews with candidates. Third-round interviews are conducted by representatives of the CEO Succession Team, and then recommended to a larger interview team for a fourth interview with a thought exercise that showcases the process and systems thinking of our future leader. Once final candidates are identified, candidates will visit campus, and spend time with the Board of Trustees, staff, students, and other members of the ECS community.
