ECS February 2022 News

Dear ECS Families,

Thank you for your continued support, patience, and understanding as we navigate new traffic patterns due to the Fern Hollow Bridge collapsing. ECS is thankful that our students, staff, and families are safe.

As many of you may know, UN Sustainable Development Goal 10, reduced inequalities, is a top priority at ECS for our entire school community regardless of race or religion. During Black History Month, students will explore different topics each week that will provide them with a unique perspective, a different lens to peek through, and allow them to recognize and confront racism. This annual cultural celebration not only helps students discover the importance of Black history, but it also brings to light the silences in history.

Finally, I am overjoyed to see several students participating in winter clubs, sports, and after school programs. This month, I am excited to introduce 9th-grade student, Leia Leviathan, who did an extraordinary job writing a student column piece about clubs at the high school. Check out her marvelous work!

Be Well,

Jon McCann
