COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Sign Up
Dear ECS Families,
ECS is pleased to host a vaccine clinic for individuals ages 5 and up at the Intermediate School on Thursday, Nov. 4 from 4–8 p.m. The clinic is open to the community, and ECS will also offer the Pfizer booster, Moderna booster, flu vaccines, and the first dose of Moderna/Pfizer. Individuals who wish to participate must sign up for an appointment.
Please Note: This clinic is dependent on the provider receiving their allotted number of vaccines and if the vaccine is approved by the CDC Director in conjunction with an ACIP recommendation. Any changes to the vaccine clinic will be communicated immediately.
A parent/guardian is permitted and encouraged to accompany their student at their scheduled appointment.
Please also bring a photocopy of your insurance card (if available). Covid-19 vaccines are free to all, regardless of insurance or attendance at ECS.
Individuals should wear a short sleeve shirt so the pharmacist can access their shoulder/arm easily.
Details for the second vaccine clinic will be provided at the Nov. 4 clinic.
Learn more about the Covid-19 Vaccine and understand the difference between adult and child dosage.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Nurse Judy, 6–12 Certified Nurse.
It is ECS’s hope for all students to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as it is an added layer of protection and will help slow the spread in our community. We understand that the decision to get vaccinated or vaccinate your student may not come easily, and you might have questions regarding the vaccine and your child’s health. ECS encourages you to have a conversation with your trusted pediatrician, review this COVID-19 Vaccine Fact Sheet, and/or reach out to ECS Board member and School Physician, pediatrician, Sapna Parker.
Finally, on Friday, Oct. 29 at 4:30 p.m. via Zoom, The National Council of Jewish Women, Pittsburgh Section will host two UPMC physicians, Dr. Maya Ragavan, MD, MPH, MS, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Dr. Glenn Rapsinski, MD, Ph.D., Infectious Diseases Fellow, to discuss the current state of COVID-19 vaccines, their availability for younger children, boosters vs. 3rd doses, ongoing equity concerns, and more. All are welcome to attend the event. To register and/or submit questions for the doctors to answer live during the session, visit https://www.ncjwpghevents.org/upcoming-events.
Thank you for taking this next step to ensuring student and staff safety. We look forward to seeing you at the Nov. 4 vaccine clinic.
Sincerely,
The ECS Health Services Team
