Why Adopt a Tree?
Trees have loads of environmental and health benefits. Trees provide cooling shade, clean the air, and protect our waterways from toxic stormwater runoff. Trees provide habitat for wildlife and bring beauty to our communities. Trees and forests in Allegheny County are at constant threat of pests and disease as well as increasingly severe weather events and development pressures. It’s up to us to grow and protect this critical natural resource, and planting trees on private property is one of the most effective ways to do it. You are a tree hero, and we can’t thank you enough! Please plant your tree in your front or backyard! These trees are not meant to be planted between the sidewalk and the street.
How Do I Care for my Tree?
Tree Pittsburgh is dedicated to helping you maintain your tree once you pick it up. Follow this How to Guide to become an expert tree planter.
