ENVIRONMENTAL CHARTER SCHOOL (ECS) APPOINTS HANNAH CRAMER AS INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

PITTSBURGH (August 14, 2024)— The Environmental Charter School (ECS) is pleased to announce Hannah Cramer’s promotion to Intermediate School Assistant Principal for the 2024–2025 school year.

This role is familiar to Cramer who assumed the position of acting assistant principal at the Intermediate School in spring 2024. Prior to this role, Cramer enriched the ECS community as the K–5 Associate Director of Curriculum and Professional Development for Literacy.

Cramer holds two degrees from the University of Pittsburgh: A Bachelor of Science in Applied Developmental Psychology and a Master of Education in Instruction and Learning. With Cramer’s impressive education, accomplished background as a Founding Assistant School Leader at KIPP Compton Community School in Compton, California, and her deep-rooted connection to ECS, she is the ideal individual to take on the assistant principal role.

Cramer’s various positions within ECS allow her to embody organization-wide goals and the mission. Cramer started as an ECS student teacher in 2015 and continued her work through 2017— first as a special education assistant and extended school day co-leader, then as a first grade special education literacy teacher.

“Hannah has grown with us as an organization, and she has the unique perspective from working in various roles throughout the years,” Dr. Amanda Cribbs, Superintendent said. “Hannah has built relationships with our students and families to better understand their needs, and she is dedicated to sparking curiosity and growing citizens. We are lucky to have her thought leadership and passion for education impacting our students and faculty.”

As Cramer officially assumed her role of assistant principal, she expressed her excitement and passion for education: “Developing an active and empathetic citizenry through education is my top priority. With this in mind, I will work closely with our dedicated staff to provide support and guidance to ensure we embody the ECS mission and vision. I look forward to nurturing students and providing them with the tools they need to grow into change makers and lifelong learners.”
