Volunteer for the Fund Development Task Force

Dear ECS Stakeholders,

The ECS Board of Trustees is seeking volunteers to join the Fund Development Task Force. At the Dec. 15 public Board meeting, a resolution was passed to assemble volunteers for the task force which is specifically tasked with evaluating and recommending policy regarding a fund that was originally started by an anonymous donor.

The purpose of the fund is to support ECS students as they travel toward their college and career endeavors and grow beyond the halls of ECS. This could include providing compensation for a variety of fees that students may incur to participate in college tours and visits, submit applications, take college, career, and apprenticeship tests, and more. This fund would enable equal access to students who may not have the necessary funds to partake in college or career readiness procedures.

The goal of the Fund Development Task Force is to submit a written recommendation by the August 2022 Board meeting that details an investment policy and parameters and management protocols for the fund and future organizational fund development opportunities.

The board is calling for eight individuals in the following distribution:

  • 4 Board members (one from the Education Committee, one from the Finance and Facilities Committee, one from the Governance Committee, and one additional board member who can represent the ongoing strategic plan work.)

  • 1 Administrative member

  • 3 Individuals that are members of ECS’s parent or instructional/building staff communities

Interested individuals should:

  • Prepare for a time commitment of 2–4 hours monthly.

  • Contact ecsboard@ecspgh.org by Jan. 12, 2022.

The ECS Board of Trustees looks forward to introducing the members of the Fund Development Task Force during the January board meeting. Please reach out to ecsboard@ecspgh.org if you have any questions. Your support of this exciting step to securing equitable access for students’ futures is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Ben Witsberger
