Attend ECS’s Sustainability Fair

Be the change! Attend ECS’s Sustainability Fair to learn about the school’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, participate in activities, meet community partners, and raise money for Intermediate sustainability clubs, organizations, and efforts.

What: Sustainability Fair 2023–Shine Only (there will not be a rain date)

Where: Intermediate School located at 829 Milton Street

When: 5–7 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2023

Who: All ECS families are welcome to attend this event. Partner organizations that will be in attendance include The Refillery, GASP, Energy Independent Solutions, Alcosan, UpStream PGH, Outdoor Inclusion Coalition, and Sunburst School of Music 

More Information: ECS has a fun-filled evening planned, including face painting, a Photo Booth, Spidermentor with Ms. Amy, a showcase of student work, games, and activities run by staff and volunteers, and tabling opportunities for community partners! Students will also have an exciting opportunity to PIE THEIR TEACHERS! Don’t forget! This falls on the same day as the PCO plant sale pick-up. Grab your plant, and stay for the festivities.

ECS will sell pizza at this event so an RSVP will help tremendously! All proceeds will go towards District Sustainability Initiatives, which include:

  • Maintaining a Healthy Ecosystem in our Schoolyard, such as Birdhouses, Caring for Pollinator Plants, etc.

  • Student-Led Environmental Responsibility: Recycling Ambassadors / Commons Caretakers / Composting Stewards

  • Student-Led Sustainability Clubs and Organizations
