Search Firm Update–CEO Succession Planning Team
From the desk of Adam Tobias, ECS Board of Trustees President and the CEO Succession Planning Team
The RFP requests for qualified executive consultants to conduct a national search to recruit and hire an education-focused CEO closed on Monday, Dec. 11 at noon. The CEO Succession Planning Team was pleased to see a number of organizations respond, and over the course of six days, interviewed nine agencies in one-hour virtual meetings with a series of set questions and a rubric to note the key features of each.
The team convened on Wednesday, Dec. 20 from 4-5 p.m. to discuss the agencies that were interviewed, and a summary of the top 3 recommendations was provided to the Board for selection in that evening. The Board Representative, David Turner, developed an organizational statement to help define the work of the team in front of our Board and our community. Negotiations on a formal contract with one agency will occur over the next few weeks, and the Board is expected to vote on the selected firm at the January public board meeting.
In the meantime, please see below for the team’s projected next steps in the coming weeks and months ahead.
