Middle School 21–22 School Year Procedures

Hey there, Middle School,

How are you?! Things are pretty busy over here, but one thing’s for sure — we’re so looking forward to the start of this school year. We’ve got some exciting, kid-centered things in the works intended to ignite learning and inspire joy. I’ll tell you more about it soon, but today, here are just a few pieces of information to note:

  • Students can arrive as early as 8:20 a.m. at Middle. The school day runs from 8:50 a.m.–3:50 p.m.

  • Columbo Street is reserved for buses. Pick up and drop off take place at the rear entrance on Black Street.

  • NEW! Look out for emails on Aug.9 and 11 about our parent and student portal. Once your account is activated, you’ll be able to see your child’s homebase assignment.

  • Masks are required for everyone when indoors but are optional outside.

  • NEW! Uniforms are not required for Middle School students. A detailed dress code was outlined in the Family Handbook, but the gist is, students should dress for the weather and avoid wearing clothing with vulgar or hateful language/images.

  • Check out this update to ensure you’ve taken the necessary steps to secure transportation. ECS will provide transportation for Middle School students who reside in the PPS district and live a mile and a half or more from the school. Please verify your address in Alma.

We hope to see you at Meet & Greet on August 16. This district-wide event runs from 5:30–7:30 p.m. and is an informal opportunity to connect with teachers, learn information specific to grade levels, meet some of our community partners, and more!

Until next time,
