Dear ECS Intermediate Families,
I hope you and your family are doing well and had a restful break. As we look to continue ECS’s mission of growing citizens, we at the Intermediate School are committed to providing the students with unique learning experiences. To that end, on November 30th, 2023, Intermediate School students in 3rd through 5th grades participated in an Author Visit Event. During this Author Visit Event, Mac Barnett and Shawn Harris, the authors of the First Cat in Space book series, hosted an in-person question and answer session at the Intermediate School. In addition to the Intermediate School, other schools from the area joined this special event via Zoom. Mr. Barnett and Mr. Harris shared with the students how they came up with some of their creative ideas and the importance of working on stories together, with one of the main drivers being how to make each other and their audience laugh. The students thoroughly enjoyed not only hearing from the authors but also listening to some of the questions and interest from the other student participants. Please find below some photos of this event.
Sincerely,
Laura Williams
Intermediate School Principal
