❗Important: ECS End of Year Health Notices 2024 ⚕️

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As the end of the school year draws near, ECS’s Health Services team’s commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goal 3, Good Health and Well Being, is unwavering, and we are dedicated to the whole child and their growth and development even when school is not in session. With that in mind, please carefully read the details below regarding medication pick up, health screenings, and preparation for the 2024–2025 school year.

Medication Pick Up

If your child has medication stored at school, please pick it up by June 12. Students are not permitted to take medications home with them, however, Inhalers/EpiPens will be sent home with students on the last day of school. ECS will dispose of all unused medications after June 12.

Health Screenings

The nurses have completed their screening for the school year. If you are interested in your child's BMI status or vision screening, please email the health office nurse in your child's building.

Preparation for 2024–2025

Medication at School

If your child will need medication given during school hours, prescription or over the counter, during the 24–25 school year, please have the child’s doctor complete the school medicine procedures form and return to school with the medication in the original container. Check expiration dates on all inhalers, EpiPens, and diabetic supplies to ensure they will last through the school year. Medication forms are valid for one school year.

Medical Conditions

If your child has any of the listed medical conditions below, please have their doctor complete a new action plan and return it to school. Action plans are valid for one school year, and must be updated yearly.

Immunizations

Rising 7th and 12th grade students are required to have additional vaccines before the start of the 24–25 school year. Please provide an updated immunization record via email to nurses@ecspgh.org.

Physical Exams

Physical examinations are required for all students entering grades 6 and 11. The completed physical exam must be dated after August 1, 2023. Forms are due by December 1, 2024. You may use the Physical Exam form or a computer printout of the physical with the doctor’s signature. Please email a physical exam for your student to nurses@ecspgh.org.
