Join ECS for your student’s GreenRoots: A Sustainable Affair event where sustainability takes center stage! Every day, students take deep dives into innovative, out-the-door education, and GreenRoots events showcase their commitment to sustainability while promising fun-packed activities in honor of our Earth. Let’s get rooted in the ECS mission together!

💚🌱6–12 Sustainability Fest: Friday, May 10, 2024, from 6–8 p.m.

This year's event will feature:

  • S'mores & Camping 101, Cornhole & Games

  • Black Out Poetry & DJ

  • Bike ECS

  • Student Art Showcase

  • Environmental Citizenship & 8th Grade Capstone Presentations and award ceremony with Keynote Speaker, Camila Rivera Tinsley

💚🌱K–5 Sustainability Fair: Friday, May 17, 2024, from 5–7 p.m.

This year's event will feature:

  • 5th Grade Environmental Literacy Paintings

  • Thinking Lab Artwork

  • EcoStewards Scavenger Hunt & S'mores

  • Hula Hoops and Hammocks with Flow Club

  • Storytime in the Garden

  • AND back by popular demand, you'll have the chance to pie a teacher!

🚀Blast from the Past! Support ECS’s Sustainabilty Initiatives!🚀

Lettuce Turnip the Beet! An ECS icon is back with this "retro" t-shirt design, benefitting ECS's *sustainability efforts across our school district. In return for your generous $30 donation, you'll receive a t-shirt as a thank-you. ($30 donation = 1 shirt, $60 = 2 shirts, and so on). Select your size(s) below and plan to pick up your gift at the 6-12 Sustainability Fest on May 10 OR the K-5 Sustainability Fair on May 17.

*Proceeds will go toward District Sustainability initiatives, funded by the ECS Foundation, including:

  • Maintaining a Healthy Ecosystem in our Schoolyard, such as Birdhouses, Caring for Pollinator Plants, etc.

  • Educational Signage in Edible School Yard

  • Memberships to the Garden Resource Center

  • Student-Led Environmental Responsibility: Recycling Ambassadors / Commons Caretakers / Composting Stewards

  • Student-Led Sustainability Clubs and Organizations
