February 2024 ECHS Construction Update
Dear ECS Stakeholders,
In September, I reached out to inform you of ECS’s steps to reduce the costs of the High School construction project through a value engineering process with AVON Design Group. As part of that process, the ECS Board of Trustees issued a request for proposal (RFP) to identify a construction management service.
I am pleased to announce that in January, the board voted to select Turner Construction Company as its construction management partner (CM). Turner Construction will direct, organize, and guide the project from the planning and development stage to the construction phase. With a focus on sustainable building practices, Turner was an ideal candidate to ensure ECS’s mission and dedication to environmental education are embedded into all elements of this process.
Finally, many of you may have heard that in October, I announced my intention to retire at the conclusion of this school year. Please know that I am committed to supporting the high school construction project to completion through consultation alongside the other fabulous staff who are fully invested in this important work and the building’s successful construction.
