#ECSCares FAQ

Finally, I wanted to provide some clarification regarding some frequently asked questions the district has been receiving.

  • The last day of in-person learning is Thursday, June 15. #ECSCares Day will occur on the last day of school which is scheduled as an asynchronous learning half day on Friday, June 16.

  • Because June 16 is scheduled as an asynchronous learning day, transportation will not be provided.

  • A parent/guardian is required to attend #ECSCares Day with their child.

  • All of the volunteer sites participating in #ECSCares Day are shine only. In the event of inclement weather, ECS will communicate any cancellations. If your student’s volunteer site gets canceled, the district will honor their attendance for that school day.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Thank you again for your participation and commitment to service to our community.

Sincerely,

Amanda Cribbs, EdD

April 11, 2023 Communication

Dear ECS Families,

I hope each of you had a wonderful and relaxing Spring Break. As students and staff arrived this morning, I was happy to see so many smiling faces. With the end of the school year right around the corner, I wanted to send a quick reminder that the #ECSCares Day Interest survey is due tomorrow, Wednesday, April 12.

Complete the Interest Form

#ECSCares Day is a district-wide event, and we are inviting students, families, and staff to volunteer for 2 hours to give back to our community. Whether you plan to volunteer in person or complete community service individually, please take a moment to fill out the survey to tell us your plans. Here are a few more details:

  • #ECSCares Day will take place on the last day of school on June 16 between 9–11 a.m.

  • The form above is simply to gauge interest and does not automatically sign you up as a volunteer or opt you out of #ECSCares Day.

  • The form is for planning purposes only, and ECS will follow up with more information, logistics, and an official list of sites to sign up for.

  • Anyone wishing to participate is welcome to sign up for a volunteer site regardless of your answer on the form.

  • Students' participation in the event will count toward school attendance on Friday, June 16.

  • Any students who are unable to volunteer on-site must volunteer at home or in their community prior to the last day and submit a form stating what they accomplished. This will allow students to meet the attendance requirement.

  • As the event materializes, ECS is dedicated to keeping all stakeholders informed via the website and additional communications.

Thank you for your dedication to building a global citizenry and for your support of our school and its surrounding community.

Sincerely,

Amanda Cribbs, EdD
Superintendent

March 30, 2023 Communication

Dear ECS Families,

As we prepare for Spring Break to commence in just a few short days, I’m reminded that this time of the year is filled with Earth and springtime celebrations. At ECS, we are dedicated to being global citizens, rooted in the concept of systems thinking, and part of our mission is to preserve the environment for future generations.

With that in mind, I’m thrilled to announce ECS’s first district-wide volunteer event, #ECSCares Day, on the last day of school, June 16th from 9–11 a.m. The district is working diligently to identify service opportunities in the community and will publish an official list at a later date for families to sign up for their desired location. In the meantime, please use the form below to indicate your interest in participating in #ECSCares Day. Please note that the form below is simply to gauge interest and does not automatically sign you up as a volunteer.

Finally, students' participation in the event will count toward school attendance on Friday, June 16. Any students who are unable to volunteer on-site must volunteer at home or in their community prior to the last day and submit a form stating what they accomplished.

As the event materializes, ECS is dedicated to keeping all stakeholders informed via this web page and additional communications. The district hopes that #ECSCares Day becomes a well-received yearly tradition of giving back to the community as it is rooted in the district's mission and vision of growing active, engaged, and empathetic citizens.

Thank you for your consideration and commitment to ECS’s values and mission. We look forward to celebrating the end of the school year with all of you through service to our community.

Sincerely,
