ECS 🦅 November 2022 News
Dear ECS Families,
Every November, students learn about Native American History Month, the history of the land we live, work and play on, its roots to the traditional territories of many Indigenous Nations, and how it is important to be thankful for the world around us. Students look forward to this magnificent time of the year as it marks the official end of warm weather and the beginning of the holiday season.
At ECS, our staff and faculty are dedicated to growing citizens who are critical thinkers and empathetic thought partners. In the weeks leading up to winter break, students will explore a variety of cultural celebrations through diverse lenses to better understand the different traditions and heritages in the world around them.
This concept connects to ECS’s mission and provides students an opportunity to develop as systems thinkers. While students continue their cultural celebration lessons, I highly encourage you to follow along, ask questions, and discuss cultural topics at home.
In the meantime, I hope you have a tremendous Thanksgiving break and enjoy time with your family and friends.
Be Well,
Jon McCann

A Note from the Nurses
Please be advised that if your student needs to take ibuprofen or acetaminophen more than twice weekly, ECS nurses will need an order from their doctor and the completion of the medication form. Due to potential rebound headaches, our school physician recommends giving over the counter pain medication (Motrin, Tylenol) no more than 2 times per week. Thank you for your understanding.
