ECS Discontinuation of Closed Campus Protocol

Dear ECS Families,

As stated in the ESSERs Health and Safety Plan, “ECS will review our visitor procedures when the Allegheny County transmission rate falls below the substantial rate.” Due to Allegheny County’s continued low COVID-19 transmission rate combined with warmer weather that allows for more outdoor activities, ECS will discontinue its closed campus protocol starting on Friday, May 6.

With this update, ECS will resume its pre-covid visitor policies and accept visitors into its buildings:

  • All visitors must present state-issued identification to enter any ECS facility.

  • Extended stay visitors, such as parent volunteers, must wear a visitor’s badge at all times.

  • Parents/Guardians must report to the building office to sign in and out.

  • The school must have prior knowledge of an early dismissal before you pick up your child.

  • On-campus/in-building events will resume. Events will use outdoor and indoor spaces to allow for social distancing.

While ECS is excited to welcome visitors into our facilities again, please know that the safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority and any individual who does not follow the procedures listed above will not be permitted to enter the buildings.

We look forward to seeing more faces in our spaces as we prepare for end-of-the-year events and celebrations.

Sincerely,

Dr. James Doyle
