District-Wide COVID-19 Cases (1/10/22)

Dear ECS Families,

The ECS administration was alerted of the following positive COVID-19 cases today:

  • 1 Primary School Student

  • 1 Primary School Staff Member

  • 4 Middle School Staff Members

  • 1 High School Staff Member

  • 1 Home Office Staff Member

The Building Response Team met to review our protocols, close contacts were alerted, and the health department was notified.

  • The appropriate quarantine and isolation procedures have been taken by the individuals to recover at home. The classrooms have undergone nightly deep cleans as a part of our regular cleaning procedures.

  • The only individuals that need to quarantine are those who have been personally contacted by the Department of Health or ECS as a close contact. If you were a close contact, you would have been notified prior to receiving this communication.

  • If the individuals were in your student’s grade level or building, your building’s principal has already contacted you via email.

Current Closures:

  • The 3rd grade is extending its virtual learning with a return to school on Thursday, Jan. 13. Please check your email for more information from Ms. Williams.

  • Middle School is scheduled to return to in-person learning on Wednesday, Jan. 12.

  • The high school will return to in-person learning on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

  • All other grade levels remain open.

For more information about ECS COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, please refer to the ECS January Quarantine Procedures.

As a reminder, health and safety begin as soon as your child(ren) leaves home, and it is important for students and staff to self-screen for symptoms of COVID-19. If you are symptomatic or may have come in contact with a person who tested positive, please stay home and contact your school nurse immediately. Your cooperation with sharing information with our school nurses and reporting any positive COVID-19 cases in your family helps keep our schools safe.

Please reach out with any questions or concerns that you may have.
