District Staff COVID-19 Cases Week of Jan. 3
Dear ECS Families,
The ECS administration was alerted that five Primary School staff members, three Intermediate School staff members, and one Middle School staff member that were in the building this week have tested positive for COVID-19. Additionally, two Home Office staff members who were in the building this week (one of which traveled to the Primary, Middle, and High Schools) have also tested positive for COVID-19. The Building Response Team met to review our protocols, close contacts were alerted, and the health department was notified.
Due to the virtual week, no classrooms or grade levels have been affected, and ECS is still on schedule for in-person instruction to resume on Monday, January 10.
The appropriate quarantine and isolation procedures have been taken by the individuals to recover at home.
While students were not in the buildings, all spaces have continued to undergo nightly deep cleans as a part of our regular cleaning procedures.
The only individuals that need to quarantine are those who have been personally contacted by the Department of Health or ECS as a close contact. If you were a close contact, you would have been notified prior to receiving this communication.
All ECS buildings will remain open.
As a reminder, health and safety begin as soon as your child(ren) leaves home, and it is important for students and staff to self-screen for symptoms of COVID-19. If you are symptomatic or may have come in contact with a person who tested positive, please stay home and contact your school nurse immediately. Your cooperation with sharing information with our school nurses and reporting any positive COVID-19 cases in your family helps keep our schools safe.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns that you may have.
