COVID-19 Guideline Update
Last year, the district provided medical excuses for students due to a mandatory 5-day quarantine as outlined by the CDC. However, recent updates to CDC guidelines have modified these requirements. As of now, students who have been exposed to COVID-19 are permitted to return to school if they are 24 hours fever-free, aligning with the protocols for other school-related illnesses.

The district will no longer provide medical excuses related to COVID-19 unless a doctor's note is presented. This change reflects our commitment to maintaining consistent policies across all medical absences, ensuring clarity and fairness in how absences are managed.
The CDCβs updated guidelines state that the 5-day quarantine period is no longer required, which aligns with our new approach to managing COVID-19 absences. The recommendation from the CDC is to stay home and away from others until symptoms are improving overall and they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. Take precautions to prevent spread for the next 5 days after returning to normal activities (whatever is possible in your setting, including masking, distancing, air filtration, and hygiene). We believe this adjustment will simplify the process for families while continuing to prioritize the health and safety of our students and staff.
