  • Update from ECS Clubs.
    Autumn Clubs go live 9/11. Watch for the details and learn about enrollment in our next Monday Blast or preview offerings here!
  • Printed wall calendars were produced by the PCO and delivered to students’ classrooms on Friday. Each family should receive one calendar. If you don’t receive a calendar by Wednesday, Sept. 6, or if you need an additional calendar for a second household, you may request one by filling out this form.
  • Update from ECS Athletics Department
    – Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole Registration Open. Practice is Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30. Spots are open for girls in grades 3-5 (GOTR) and grades 6-8 (H&S). Register here!  Practice runs Monday, September 18th -Wednesday, December 6th.  Please contact Chelsea Young for more information!
    – Ms. Gregory is hosting Morning Energizing Club beginning September 11th at our lower school. Check here for information and enrollment.
    – Tennis club begins September 11th. For details check here.
  • The ECS Urban Ecostewards will have their next outing on
    Saturday, September 9th, 10 am – noon. We will meet at the parking lot beside the tennis courts on Braddock Avenue and hike down to our plot.  As always, bring footwear that can get muddy and your own water bottle. We provide the rest (gloves, tools, instructions). We will do some water testing this time!

  • Our Annual Harvest Feast is meant to be an inclusive and enjoyable time for all. There have been different issues this tradition has faced, from inequitable volunteer distribution, leaving some of our teachers and staff the lionshare of food distribution and clean up, to accommodating our students with allergies so that all can enjoy safely. If you are interested in rethinking Harvest Feast, please join me on the Rethinking Harvest Feast Committee. You can submit your information here.
  • This year’s Fall Festival (Friday, October 6, 2017, 5-8 p.m.will celebrate the ECS community’s cultural diversity with demonstrations and activities representing our families from around the world. Please consider sharing your cultural heritage with our school community by planning an interactive table for Fall Festival! If you would like to participate, please fill out this form by September 12.
  • ECS PCO Mini-Grants Doubled for 2017-2018 School Year! For this school year, the Parent Community Organization has doubled the total amount of money available for mini-grants. As a result of this, we have also increased the maximum amount for mini-grants from $250 to $500. If you have an innovative idea for a project you would like to see implemented at the school, consider applying for a mini-grant. The next deadline is September 29. More information here.
  • Do you shop at Giant Eagle? Each time you scan your Advantage card, you could be earning money for ECS. Just register for Apples for the Students at and your purchase will support a cash donation to ECS at the end of the school year. The ECS school code is 5305.
